IMPROV, a barbershop quartet formed during the Christmas season of 2023 out of Belleville, IL, was born after they were thoroughly impressed by their performance. In March 2024, they officially took shape by practicing before and after Sounds of Harmony Chorus rehearsals. Comprising members Ryan Latinette, Doug Brooks, Paul Schulte, and Steve Martin, the quartet boasts over 100 years of combined barbershop experience and has sung in several quartets. Notably, Doug, Paul, and Steve were also esteemed singers with the five time International Chorus Champions, the Ambassadors of Harmony. In 2024, they made their debut in the Illinois District Quartet Competition, showcasing their talent and placing 5th overall out of 20 quartets, but in 2025, they decided to compete again at the Illinois Districts Competition and brought home the gold! They won the Illinois Districts Competition, taking 1st place out of 18 quartets! As they continue to grow and expand their repertoire, IMPROV aims to delight their audience with their musical performances and vocality.
